I’ve always been a huge fan of Bobby Flay, but after finding this recipe, I’m his number one fan. These tacos are some of the best I’ve ever tasted; they have an incredible complexity of flavors and textures, from the flaky, cinnamon-chile rubbed halibut to the crisp citrus slaw. I’m getting giddy just thinking about eating the leftovers for lunch today!

I love summertime, primarily because it’s grilling season. I’ve always been a fan of grilled food with that delicious char flavor. This spicy corn salad has the grilled taste and bursts with flavor, from the spice of the hot sauce to the sweetness of the sugar and honey. The dish pairs wonderfully with grilled chicken, and even better with this honey-lime chicken burrito!

spice it up. [bbq-tequila chicken tostadas topped w. jalapeño-pineapple salsa & spicy bbq sauce]

This past weekend revolved around food–particularly yesterday. On top of making these delicious and unique tostadas, I made spicy queso dip (with my new cast iron skillet!), and jalapeño margaritas. I’ll post both recipes soon. Back to the tostadas, though. The tostadas were beyond flavorful and spicy! I have a relatively low spice tolerance, so I added extra sour cream to calm the burn. :)

Since late last year, buffalo sauce and I have become very close. I find myself wanting to put Frank’s hot sauce on anything and everything. I was craving a buffalo dish the other day and stumbled across this taco recipe. With a few alterations, the tacos turned out unbelievably delicious. The hot sauce provided the perfect amount of spice, and the onion and cilantro relish provided a nice crunch. Thank God the recipe made leftovers so I can eat this the rest of the week!

back in action. [avocado, chickpea & quinoa salad w. lemon-mustard vinaigrette]

I was in Miami for work most of last week/weekend, so I wasn’t able to post until now. Although the trip was extremely busy, we were able to relax a bit on Friday night and watch both of our clients perform at Ultra Music Festival–it was pretty incredible!

My roommate, Megan, and I decided that we’d be content eating this quinoa salad for every meal, for the rest of our lives. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s that delicious. Super easy to make, too!

love at first bite. [beef tenderloin sandwich w. tomato, avocado, provolone & homemade pesto]

Put your bikini/swim trunks away for the day and go make this sandwich. I promise you won’t regret it. Though this isn’t a healthy summer recipe, the sandwich is so delicious that it doesn’t matter. And as I’m sure you can see from the photo, the gooey cheese takes the cake.

One of the best parts about this sandwich is that it’s made up of leftovers. Sure, not everyone has leftover beef tenderloin and homemade pesto sitting in the fridge, but if you do (or want to make everything fresh), I highly suggest you do so. :)

speak of the devil. [avocado deviled eggs & grandma’s traditional deviled eggs]

I know I’m late to the game since I didn’t post this deviled egg recipe on Easter, but nonetheless, here it is now. :) My family doesn’t do Easter baskets, egg hunts, etc. anymore, so my mom and I figured we’d be somewhat festive by whipping up some deviled eggs.

We’d never added avocado to the filling before, so we wanted to give it a try. Though the avocado flavor was subtle, it was recognizable–and delicious! Of course, traditional deviled eggs never fail, so we used my grandma’s recipe for the rest of the eggs.

If you’re looking for more deviled egg inspiration, head over to Egg Me On.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I’ll be spending the weekend in the desert at Coachella. Crossing my fingers it doesn’t end up raining!
