could not be happier. [chili con carne]

November 10th, 2020 by | comments

It’s finally starting to feel like fall in LA and I could not be happier. The cooler weather calls for cozy clothes and comfort food, like this hearty chili. This chili is packed with flavor and made even more delicious with United Harvest‘s sirloin tip roast. The unbelievably juicy and tender chunks of steak encompassed in the slightly spicy and smoky sauce are a delicious alternative to the standard ground beef typically found in chili. If you want to give this recipe a try with the United Harvest beef, you can purchase the meat here, using discount code SWEET for 5% off your order!  continue reading ››

epitome of comfort food. [chicken pot pie]

October 26th, 2020 by | comments

Hearty, and sometimes unhealthy, dishes are often worth the calories—one being this chicken pot pie recipe. It’s simple, yet full of flavor and texture, from the soft potatoes and vegetables infused with butter and thyme to the flaky homemade pie crust, baked to golden brown perfection.

This dish reminds me of when I lived in Ohio and my mom would make it on cold, winter nights. It’s one of those meals that warms you up inside and never fails to put a smile on your face. The homemade crust makes all the difference in the pie, as it has the perfect consistency and subtle salty flavor. This would be a great dish to add to your Thanksgiving menu!

best I ever had. [smashburger w. stone ground mustard aioli]

October 11th, 2020 by | comments

I’m SO excited to share my smashburger recipe using none other than United Harvest meat. Their ground beef is honestly some of the best I’ve ever tasted, made from a unique blend of angus beef and waygu fat, giving the meat an insanely delicious and deep flavor. Better yet, their meat is free of hormones, feed additives, and unnecessary antibiotics. The meat is delicious and mouth watering on its own, but pairs perfectly with my homemade stone ground mustard aioli and classic burger toppings.

United Harvest is running a promo right now for 2lbs of FREE ground beef with orders of $99 or more, so you can give it a try too! Just use code TWOFREE via this link. Go, go, go!

sweet summer. [fresh corn salad]

August 27th, 2020 by | comments

I can’t seem to get enough of fresh corn this summer. It’s on sale almost every time I go to the grocery, so I continue to buy it and work it into our meals each week. This particular corn salad is one of my favorite dishes we’ve made. There’s minimal ingredients and prep work, but it’s bursting with fresh flavors and crisp textures. Highly recommend making it while corn is still in season!

Happy Friday! A few weeks ago, my husband and I visited my parents (socially distant, of course), and my mom whipped up this incredibly delicious recipe from Bon Appétit. Honestly, I still have dreams about this bowl. It was SO good with punches of flavor from every component in the dish, complimented by various textures. In two words – delicious and filling. Sign me up!
