  • BBQ pork ribs recipe:
  • 4 lbs. United Harvest pork ribs
  • Heavy duty foil
  • BBQ rub recipe:
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. cayenne
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • BBQ sauce recipe:
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. worcestershire
  • ½ Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 6 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp. Onion powder
  • 1 ½ tsp. dry mustard
  1. For the BBQ rub:
  2. In a small bowl, whisk all ingredients together. Set aside until ready to use.
  3. For the BBQ sauce:
  4. Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan, then turn the burner on to medium-high heat. Once the sauce comes to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook, stirring frequently to prevent the sauce from burning, for approximately 45 minutes.
  5. After 45 minutes, the sauce should be thicker. Adjust seasoning if desired, then remove sauce from the heat and set aside.
  6. For the pork ribs:
  7. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  8. Place the ribs on a large cutting board, then prepare to remove the membrane. At one end of the rack, slide a sharp knife under the membrane and over a bone. Using the knife, lift and loosen the membrane and grab the edge with your hands and pull it off. (The membrane typically comes off in one whole piece, but you may need to remove it in multiple pieces).
  9. Depending on how the ribs come, cut into equal portions so you have 4-6 smaller racks of ribs.
  10. Next, coat both sides of the ribs with the rub seasoning, rubbing thoroughly into the meat with your hands. (You should use all of the rub mixture).
  11. Place a large sheet of heavy duty foil on the counter (twice the length of each rack of ribs) then place one rack of ribs in the middle of the foil. Baste both sides of the ribs with BBQ sauce then position the ribs meat side up in the middle of the foil. Bring all of the edges of the foil up to create a packet and seal tightly. Repeat process with the remaining racks of ribs.
  12. Place the foil packets of ribs in the middle rack of the oven and cook approximately 2 hours, or until fork tender. (If your ribs are a bit meatier, they will most likely require more cooking time, up to 3 hours). Place a cookie sheet on the lower rack of the oven underneath the foil packets to ensure the rib packets don’t drip onto the oven floor.
  13. Once the ribs are cooked, remove all foil packets of ribs from the oven.
  14. Preheat the broiler to high.
  15. Place one foil packet of ribs on a cookie sheet then open the foil so the ribs are exposed. Baste the top of the ribs with BBQ sauce again, then place in the oven and broil until slightly charred, around 3 minutes. Repeat process with remaining foil packets of ribs.
  16. Once ready to serve, place ribs on a cutting board or serving platter and serve with a side of the BBQ sauce.
