If you’re still searching for recipe ideas for your 4th of July get together, I’ve got you covered! I recently made this Italian pasta salad for a picnic with friends before a Hollywood Bowl concert and not a noodle was left in sight. The dish is simple, yet packed with flavor and texture. I will be making this again for my parent’s 4th of July party – per my mother’s request!
Some of my favorite days are spent in the kitchen cooking with my mom. Last year, we were preparing for a summer picnic and tasked with making a potato salad to accompany the rest of the BBQ food. After scouring the Internet for recipes, we finally decided to wing it and make up our own. This recipe is the result of that and it’s been a staple in our family ever since. I recently brought this potato salad to a 4th of July BBQ where it was a hit. Luckily, I made way too much, so we had tons of leftovers!
I know I’m late to post this festive Fourth of July cocktail, but the drink would be delicious any time of the year! The strawberry and blueberry ice cubes bring an otherwise boring and colorless drink to life. If you’re not a strawberry or blueberry fan, you can of course replace them with raspberries, blackberries, grapes, etc.
CHEESE! I don’t think I could live without it. I’ve considered cutting out dairy products, but the thought of life without cheese makes me cringe. This queso dip was the epitome of cheesy deliciousness with just the right amount of spice from the serrano. The dip would be perfect for your Fourth of July party tomorrow!

If you’re a fan of snickerdoodles, I’m gonna go ahead and say that you’d love these cinnamon squares. They’re basically a snickerdoodle cookie in gooey cake form. What could be better than that?! I brought these to a 4th of July BBQ and not a single bar was left on the tray. I’ll most definitely be making these again soon.
I know I’m late, but happy 4th of July! It’s been a busy work week, but I was still able to spend a good amount of time with my family and relatives in town from Ohio–primarily because my boss was generous enough to give us the day off yesterday.
While home, we ate some unbelievably delicious food (my uncle is an incredible cook, or rather, chef), drank copious amounts of wine and laid in the sun for far too long.
Back to work today, but at least it’s Friday! Hope everyone has a great weekend.
