The Jucy Lucy burger is a meal everyone should try at least once in their life. The gooey, cheesy interior of the burger patty makes for a delicious, melt-in-your mouth experience and is made even better when topped with some fresh pickle slices and a generous squeeze of ketchup.

Ingredients
  • 1-2 lbs. Kobe beef
  • 1 brick mild cheddar cheese, cut into very thin strips, then cut in half
  • Soft hamburger buns, toasted, if desired
  • Ketchup
  • Vlassic Bread and Butter Pickle Chips
  • Salt and black pepper
Instructions
  1. Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Divide the meat into equal portions and place on a cutting board or cookie sheet. Using your fingertips, press the meat into two thin patties. The patties should be about ¼-inch thick.
  2. Next, stack the sliced cheddar cheese cubes in the center of one of the patties, making sure to leave room along the outside.
  3. Cover the cheese-topped patty with the second patty, and then pinch the edges of the meat to form a tight seal. Round out the edges of the patties with your hands and slightly flatten the top. Ensuring that the sides are sealed will prevent the cheese from seeping out. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat an indoor grill pan, skillet or grill to medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan. Once the oil is hot, add the burger patty. Cover the patty with a lid and cook undisturbed for approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Do not press down on the patty while cooking — you do not want the cheese to escape!
  5. Then, flip the burger with a spatula. Cover the patty again with the lid and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes, until cooked through. Remove the patty from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.
  6. Place the warm patty on a bun (toasted, if desired) and top with pickles, ketchup and the top bun. Serve immediately.
